Menopause Doctor
MB ChB (Otago), PGDipOG, FRNZCGP
Dr Nerissa Jones completed her medical degree at the University of Otago, going on to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology. It was during her training and early career that women's health really took hold as her focus, and she went on to become a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. Women's health remains right at the centre of Nerissa's practice today, with a particular interest in contraception, sexual health, and midlife women's health. She's passionate about supporting women through the physical and emotional changes of perimenopause and menopause — helping them understand what's actually going on with their symptoms, feel properly heard, and build a personalised treatment plan that gets them back to feeling like themselves again. Having grown up in the Bay of Plenty, Nerissa feels a real sense of pride in caring for her local community. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her partner at their countryside home, staying active, baking, reading, getting out on local walks, and pottering in the garden — usually with her very fluffy cat close behind.
