Menopause Doctor

MBBS (London), BSc, MRCGP, DFSRH, MSCP

Bio

Catherine is a British-trained GP now based in Christchurch. She earned her BSc in Psychiatry from University College London in 2004, followed by her Medical Degree (MBBS), also from UCL, in 2008. After several years in the NHS, she completed her GP training and became a Member of the Royal College of GPs (MRCGP) in 2015, going on to complete a postgraduate diploma in Sexual Health and Reproductive Health (DFSRH) in 2018 to deepen her expertise in women's health. Before moving to New Zealand, Catherine owned her own General Practice and directed local services in the UK. "I practise in a truly holistic way and am a big supporter of lifestyle medicine. I believe it's not just about medications, but about looking at our lives and the way we live in order to manage our health. I've long been an ambassador for Moving Medicine — looking at the evidence for physical activity's impact on illness, and training health practitioners to deliver this as an integrated part of the consultation. I'm currently undertaking a certificate in medical nutrition to support this. I'm a keen runner, currently training for my 7th marathon, and love staying active — whether that's in the gym or out in nature's playground. I also understand what it's like to manage a busy work life while raising children, and now that I've entered the perimenopausal age bracket myself, I'm even more motivated to help women navigate through what can be a genuinely tough phase of life."
