To improve how menopause is understood, supported and treated.
Menodoctor was founded by husband and wife team Dr Linda Dear and Dan Dear after seeing first-hand how difficult it can be for women to find clear guidance and the right support for menopause symptoms.
We believe women deserve to feel heard, informed and taken seriously — with evidence-based care, more time to talk, and support that reflects the real impact menopause can have on daily life.
Why this matters
Menopause is a major hormonal life stage, yet many women still struggle to access clear information, timely support and care that takes their symptoms seriously.
Experience symptoms
Many women will experience menopause symptoms that affect how they feel day to day.
Need more support
For many, symptoms can be significant enough to affect wellbeing, confidence, work and family life.
Care feels confusing
Symptoms are still frequently overlooked, dismissed or mistaken for stress, ageing or something women should simply put up with.
What guides everything we do
Our approach is built around four core commitments that shape the way we care for women, communicate and advocate for better menopause support.
Support
We support women through perimenopause and menopause with care that considers symptoms, lifestyle, health history and individual goals — not just a checklist of concerns.
Empower
We provide clear, honest information so women can better understand what is happening in their body and make informed decisions about treatment and symptom management.
Educate
We work to improve understanding of menopause by making expert information more accessible, easier to understand and more relevant to women’s real experiences.
Advocate
We advocate for better menopause awareness and support in healthcare, workplaces and wider society, because this stage of life deserves far more recognition than it has historically received.
A clinic built to fill a gap in care
Menodoctor was founded by husband and wife team Dr Linda Dear and Dan Dear after seeing first-hand how difficult it can be for women to find clear guidance and the right support for menopause symptoms.
Through Linda’s work as a doctor, and their own experience at home, they saw how many women were struggling to understand what was happening to their bodies — often unsure whether their symptoms were related to perimenopause or menopause, and unsure what treatment options were available. Too often, women were being left to work things out on their own.
They wanted to create a clinic that offered enough time in appointments, clear guidance, and the right support for symptoms that were having a real impact on women’s lives. Menodoctor was created to change that — with a service designed specifically around menopause care, grounded in evidence, compassion, and a better patient experience.
More time to properly understand symptoms and the full health picture.
Clear, evidence-based conversations about treatment options and ongoing care.
A mission that goes beyond the clinic into education, awareness and workplace support.
More than a standard medical appointment
We have designed Menodoctor around the needs of women in perimenopause and menopause, with a model of care that is more focused, more informative and more supportive.
Dedicated menopause focus
Our service is built specifically around menopause care, rather than treating it as just one topic among many in general practice.
Time to talk properly
Consultations are designed to allow time to understand symptoms, discuss patterns, answer questions and explore treatment options in more depth.
Evidence-based care
We focus on clear, up-to-date information and treatment plans that are tailored to each woman’s symptoms, health history and goals.
A broader mission
We are also working to improve menopause understanding across New Zealand through education, public awareness and workplace support.
